MICHIGAN MAJORS

 

Matt Randall of Brownstown Township won his second Budweiser Michigan Majors title with a 223-204 triumph over Mitch Jabczenski of Novi at Plaza Lanes in Plymouth .

 

Randall qualified second for the stepladder finals and beat Dave Tulak of Taylor 239-182 to advance. He took home the top prize of $1,000.

 

Top seeded Jabczenski waited for a challenger to emerge. Jabczenski received the runner up check of $600.

 

The stepladder finals began with top qualifier John Nolen of Waterford Township falling to Doug Evans of Riverview 227-188. Tulak then beat Evans 279-147.

 

Tulak cashed for $500, Evans $400 and Nolen $400, which included $100 as top qualifier.

 

The only other Oakland County casher was Mark Milasinovich of Oxford for $125.

 

The lane conditions were very demanding for the 60 entrants with Nolen recording the top six-game qualifying score of 1,307.

USBC QUEENS

 

A very special event will take place in our market beginning on Saturday when the United States Bowling Congress Queens tournament will begin qualifying at Super Bowl in Canton .

 

There is no cost for spectators to watch over 300 of the world’s best female bowlers who will be vying for over $200,000 in prize money with $30,000 awarded to the champion.

 

After qualifying is completed the field will be cut to the top 63 plus defending champion Kelly Kulick of Union , N.J. for double elimination match play.

 

The finals will be televised on ESPN2 on Wednesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. at Skore Lanes in Taylor . The finals are being held at Skore Lanes because of the set up work that needs to be done in preparation for the televised finals.

 

The cost to watch the televised finals live is only $10 and tickets can be purchased at either Super Bowl or Skore Lanes. The doors will open at 5 p.m. and for best seating make sure to get there early.
