The
Metro Detroit USBC Association Masters Tournament is scheduled for Cloverlanes
in
Qualifying will be conducted in two squads on Jan. 19. After the six games of qualifying is completed the top 31 players plus defending champion Jeffrey Austreng of Waterford Township will return for double elimination match play on Sunday, Jan. 20. The top eight players after the first day of match play will come back on Saturday, Jan. 26 to complete the competition. Matches consist of three games total pins.
First place will pay $4,000 with $2,000 for runner-up.
Bowlers can expect to face a challenging lane condition, which places a premium on their skill as bowlers. The lane pattern this year will be the Chameleon pattern, which is a recognized Sport Bowling event by the United States Bowling Congress.

In the championship match Grego began with the first 10 strikes never giving Wyatt a chance.
“It is always special to win, but this was extra special because it was the first time my son saw me bowl.” said Grego. “Plus we were planning a cruise and the $1,300 will come in very handy.”
Wyatt settled for the runner-up check of $700 after qualifying first with a nine-game total of 2,290 which included a 300 game.

in the stepladder finals John Bennett of Clarkston beat Craig Nidiffer of
Marino cashed for $600, Bennett $500 and Nidiffer $400.
