Wissinger of

was the top seed for the stepladder finals with a nine-game total of 2,140 and
took home the top prize of $1,000.
Chambers
was the top qualifier with a six-game total of 1,462. This was the second
consecutive tournament that he placed second. Earlier he had dispatched Ray Eddy
of
Even
though Chambers finished second for the second month in a row he said, “It’s
no disgrace losing to a Hall of Fame bowler like Wissinger.”
“I
have cut back on my bowling due to my arm.” said champion Wissinger. “The
only tournaments I have bowled in the past few months are the Michigan Majors. I
really can’t hit the ball or that tendon would really pop.”
The
first match of the stepladder finals resulted in Eddy beating Larry Walker of
Garden City 245-227.
