BUDWEISER MICHIGAN MAJORS

 

Dale Strike of Saginaw ran the table in the stepladder finals of the Championship Tournament of the Budweiser Michigan Majors at Cherry Hill Lanes in Dearborn Heights .

 

Strike qualified fifth for the stepladder finals and proceeded to defeat Larry Walker of Garden City 215-201, Dave Tulak of Taylor 247-225, Todd Sim of Belle River , Ontario 236-217 and top qualifier Terry Haines of Garden City 226-224 in the championship match.

 

Strike took home the top prize of $1,700, while Haines received $800, Sim $600, Tulak $500 and Walker $400.

 

As top qualifier Haines had a score of 2,218 for nine games, an average of 246 and earned an extra $100 for his efforts.

 

Justin Crosby of Holly led the Oakland County contingent cashing for $350, Lee Snow of Wixom took home $220 and Ken Kossick of Commerce Township $110.

 

The next MMBA event will be the Tournament of Champions on Dec. 13 at Taylor Lanes.

NATIONAL SENIOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION

 

Terry Bialkowski of Canada won his second National Senior Bowling Association title with a 228-209 triumph over Gary Zarick of Macomb Township at Oak Lanes in Westland .

 

Bialkowski took home the top prize of $1,000. He qualified 13th and proceeded to beat Kevin Scott of Ferndale 213-194, Jim Richardson of Toledo 244-228, Dave Eatmon of Ferndale 205-202 and Jim Reed of Canton to advance to the final match.

 

Zarick qualified 14th, took home the second place check of $500 and beat Tom DeBacker of Chelsea 258-215, Dan Mayer of Waterford Township 232-188, Ken Kossick of Commerce Township 207-192 and Bob Frink of Washington 232-200 en route to the finals.

 

Oakland seniors who cashed were Eatmon for $175, Kossick $175, Michael McCleskey of Southfield $175, Mayer $125, Scott $100, Jerry Owczarski of South Lyon $100, Len Kersten of Clarkston $100 and Philip Horowitz of West Bloomfield $90.

 

Terry Kandes of New Boston recorded the high game of the event with 280 and Larry Walker of Garden City was the top qualifier.

 

The next NSBA Tournament will be Dec. 13 at Fountainview Lanes in Clinton Township .
