NATIONAL SENIOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION

 

Dave Tulak of Taylor won his first National Senior Bowling Association tournament with a 224-215 victory over Rick Vittone of Canada at Superbowl Lanes in Canton .

 

Tulak finished second in the previous NSBA event and it was only a matter of time before he broke through. After qualifying second he beat Albert Amella III of Macomb 237-209, William Manley Jr. of Detroit 244-223 and John Watkins of Canton 277-207 to advance to the championship match. Tulak took home the top prize of $1,000.

 

Vittone qualified fifth and took out Paul Jensen of Birmingham 207-148, Larry Walker of Garden City and Dan Mayer of Waterford Township 267-230 on his way to the final match. Vittone received the runner-up check of $500.

 

Vittone recorded the top game of the competition with 289 and Rick Capaldi of Canton was the high qualifier.

 

Oakland County was represented by Dan Mayer who cashed for $250, Paul Jensen $110, Mike McCleskey of Southfield $95 and Bill Haynes of Rochester Hills $90.
