MICHIGAN STATE TOURNAMENTS

 

The Michigan State USBC Women’s Tournament has completed five of 14 weeks and the Michigan State USBC Open Tournament is just over half way finished with eight weeks in the books of 16.

 

The women’s tournament is being contested in Bay City and Monitor Lanes and Eastland Bowling Center while the open tournament is in Lansing at Pro Bowl West and Royal Scot.

 

Local teams cracking the top 10 in the women’s tournament include the Edward C Levy Co. team of Madison Heights currently in sixth place in handicap team event with 3,485.

 

Cheryl Buchan of Commerce Township is sitting in third place in handicap singles with 792 and ninth place in handicap all-events with 2,209.

 

In the open tournament the Club Louie team is in first place in the Division 2 Handicap Team Event with 3,593. The team includes Richard Parry of Troy , Michael Parry of Sterling Heights , David Moore of Oxford , Ted Jones of Clinton Township and Larry Huffman Jr. of Troy .

 

The Bill & Sons team with William Neiman, Justin Neiman, Jason Neiman and Jonathan Kennedy of Warren and Christopher Patterson of Macomb pace the Division 1 Handicap Team event with 3,693.

 

Eric Hartley of White Lake and Vincent Frattini of Commerce Township are in sixth place in Division 1 Handicap Doubles with 1,462.

 

Ray Partlo of Oxford is in eighth place in Division 1 Handicap All Events with 2,224 just ahead of Travis Franz, who is in ninth place with 2,211.

 

In the optional Actual All Events William Kitson of Troy resides in 10th place with 2,075.

 

The women’s tournament concludes on May 17 and the open tournament on April 26.

BOWLING ON TV THIS WEEKEND

 

The Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour takes a one-week break and will return on Sunday, March 22 on ESPN at 1 p.m. with the Go RVing Match Play Championship from Norwich , Conn.
