NATIONAL SENIOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION

Ken Lang of Eastpointe won his first National Senior Bowling Association title with a 224-222 triumph over top qualifier Joe Buffa of Macomb at Bowl One Lanes in Troy .

Lang took home the top check of $1,000 after qualifying 19^th and beating George Humphry of Grosse Pointe Farms 236-204, Dick Selgo of Archbold , Ohio 172-159, Chuck Bork of Bay City 232-192 and Jim Rock of Kalamazoo 214-207.

Buffa led all qualifiers and beat Nick Beelaard of Canada 258-182, Tony Stipcak of Redford 238-207 and Larry Franz of Redford 191-168 to advance to the championship match. He earned the runner-up check of $500.

Dave Eatmon of Ferndale recorded the top game of the event with 279.

Oakland County was represented at the pay window by Eatmon for $150, Tom Fauls of Troy $120, Philip Horowitz of West Bloomfield $120 and Jim Burton of Novi $90.

The next NSBA event will be April 18 at Century Bowl in Waterford Township .
