The Metro Detroit USBC is a non-profit, member-based organization that relies on support from a small staff, our Board of Directors and our extremely important volunteers. Roles range from very basic ones to those needing specific skills, and you can help at a single event or many.

General Support
- Responsibilities: Various manual tasks, including event and tournament setup, stuffing envelopes, and distributing flyers and other promotional materials.
- Skillset: No specific skillset required.
- Frequency: One to multiple times.
Sales Support
- Responsibilities include:
- 50/50 ticket sales
- Ball raffle sales
- Lottery ticket sales, including BVL, McKay, Bowl For The Cure and others
- Merchandise sales at selected tournaments
- Sponsorship sales: tournaments, and BVL and Bowl For The Cure gift baskets
- Skillset: Enjoy engaging with others, able to start a conversation, upbeat personality, handles money efficiently, and no fear of asking for money.
- Frequency: Multiple times, October through May.
Tournament Volunteers
- Responsibilities include:
- Scoring monitors who record scores after each game and report to the tournament desk
- Registration area: check in bowlers, register walk-in bowlers and make lane assignments
- Match Play white board recording
- Bracket recording
- Skillset: Knowledge of bowling tournament dynamics, basic computer skills and excellent communication.
- Frequency: Multiple times, October through May.
Video and Camera Operators
- Responsibilities: Video tournaments and events, and take photos of bowlers along with a matching name list.
- Skillset: Basic knowledge of video and camera operation and strong organizational skills.
- Frequency: Multiple times, October through May.
A stipend is provided to cover gas and food costs during the event!
